Rise and shine! It’s been another action-packed week in the beauty world. From learning of some of the most outrageous world records in beauty to swooning over Allure’s Best of Beauty winners, this week has been about the best of the best. What’s the best beauty product in your book? Personally, I know I couldn’t live without my Laura Mercier Tightline Cake Eye Liner ($28) (I love it so much, I wrote about it here and here) and my Dior Diorskin Nude BB Creme ($44). We’ve love to hear about your favorites—comment below or, as always, tweet us at @MochiMag #MakeupMondays. Have a great week!

Record-Breaking Beauty

I thought I owned a lot of lip balms, but Eleanor Miller of Israel owns 492, the current record for the largest collection in the Guinness Book of World Records. I’m still trying to wrap my head around the fact that there are 492 (and probably more!) lip balms on the market (Side note: My current favorite is Dior’s Creme de Rose, which has a lovely rose scent and smoothes my flakey lips) xoVain posted a few beauty-related records, some of which are completely crazy (28 feet is the record for longest fingernails—I don’t know how her nails didn’t break!). Do you think you can beat any? It definitely puts my own makeup collection (and beauty achievements) to shame.

Pink Love for Breast Cancer Research

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and every fall, the fashion/beauty market is inundated with pink items to promote awareness and support research. Brit + Co rounded up some “perfectly pink” products to splurge on this month, such as Coach’s BCA Block Letter Key Ring ($48) and Nest’s Passion Candle ($28). And if you’re watching your pennies, you can even pick up the EOS Breast Cancer Awareness Pack, containing two of the extraordinary Smooth Sphere Lip Balms ($6.49). Go out and treat yourself to something—it’s for a good cause!

The Crème de la Crème of All-Things Beauty

October also means that it’s time for Allure’s annual Best of Beauty! I used to be skeptical that the staff could actually test all the products on the market, but from my internship there last summer, I know that the editors actually do test hundreds and hundreds of different products to select the very best for their readers. I’m stoked that my favorite Vaseline Spray and Go Moisturizer ($7.99) was honored as one of the year’s biggest beauty breakthroughs (seriously, it’s life changing). Check out the other winners—did any of your go-to products win an award?

Gwen Stefani to Rock OPI

In the new year, Gwen Stefani won’t be dropping an album, but a seven-piece OPI collection instead. Styleitereports that the collection will incorporate Stefani’s unique style into each color, such as “Over & Over A-Gwen,” a red crème polish inspired by her signature red lipstick. From last year’s Mariah Carey Collection (remember that?), I’m confident this collection won’t disappoint. Even better, Glamour reported that the ever-so-hard to find OPI polishes will now be easier to find online. All OPI collections were made available last Thursday on HSN. That’ll definitely tide us over until January! Were there any OPI hues that were previously so hard for you to find?
