Closing the weekend lineup of shows was Vassilios Kostetsos. A popular fashion staple in Greece, Kostetsos brought forth a bold collection this season. Colors were bright and silhouettes were dramatic. Leg-of-mutton sleeves (where a puffy shoulder is tapered down the arm into a fitted wrist) made a statement on top, while sky-high over-the-knee boots by Haris Kazakos drew attention downward.
The looks were high fashion, but upon breaking down each piece it was apparent that the collection consisted of many wearable separates. When we went backstage post-show to ask the designer more about his collection he told us: “I design for women and men who have a modern, powerful style and a strong personality.”
We also asked Kostetsos which pieces of the collection were his favorites, to which he responded, “The red dresses, leather coats, electric blue jackets and skirts, the golden [piece] with [a silhouette that resembles a] Greek sculpture…they’re all my children.”
Passionate about his work, the designer was truly elated to be discussing the collection with us and it was amazing to be able speak one-on-one with him!
