Now that winter is in full swing, your skin must be needing some serious TLC. Even if the holiday festivities have left you sleep deprived, tired, and dehydrated, there are steps you can take to protect your skin from the cold-weather elements and bring back a healthy summer glow from just a few months ago. Check out these products:
Temptu Highlighter, Champagne Shimmer, ($27.50)
This highlighter has to be one of my most favorite liquid highlighters because a little goes a long way. I found that the best way to apply this liquid highlighter without overdoing it (you want to glow, not shine like a disco ball) is to mix a couple of drops with a few pumps of your moisturizer. I personally like to mix a couple of drops with my CC cream. It gives you an even glow and dewy look.
Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel, ($38)
This moisturizer is on the high-end side of products, however, it works wonders when it comes to keeping your skin moisturized and smooth. What’s also great about it is that it’s light as a feather and doesn’t leave oily residue. When applying any moisturizer, you want to always make sure that you apply it to a fresh clean face. I only use two to three pumps and spread it evenly throughout my face and make sure to focus on spots that are prone to getting very dry.
Lush Love Lettuce Fresh Faced Mask ($6.95 , 2.1 oz.)
I am such a sucker for handmade skincare, especially Lush products. This mask is the miracle worker during the winter because it is the jack of all trades. Not only does it smell amazing with hints of lavender, but it has ground almonds, which help exfoliate dry skin and remove dead skin cells. But because the mask is so creamy, even after exfoliation, it does not leave your skin dry. I usually apply this to clean skin for about 10 to 15 minutes, then rinse with warm water.
Josie Maran, Argan Oil Moisturizing Stick, ($22.00)
Your lips can make a bold statement, especially during the winter. If they become dry and cracked it can give your skin a not-so-pretty glow. This little stick is a multi-purpose essential; it keeps your lips moist and plump, and can also be used on other parts of your body that are dry, like your hands, elbows, and face. I keep this oil stick in my purse at all times since it is a quick fix to a lot of winter beauty emergencies. When it is not being applied to my lips, I make sure that I use clean fingers to swipe a bit of it to other areas of my body that need it.
