“Genie, Make a Wish”

Stream the South Korean series on Netflix starting Oct. 3. Written by Kim Eun-sook, the screenwriter behind “Guardian: The Great and Lonely God” and “Mr. Sunshine,” the K-drama stars Kim Woo-bin, Bae Suzy, and Steve Sanghyun Noh.
“Boots”

This one-hour comedic drama delivers an irreverent, offbeat take on the coming-of-age story. Set in the tough, unpredictable world of the 1990s U.S. Marine Corps — when being gay in the military was still illegal — the series follows directionless, closeted Cameron Cope and his best friend Ray McAffey (Liam Oh), the son of a decorated Marine, as they join a diverse group of recruits. Together, this ensemble navigates the literal and metaphorical landmines of boot camp, forging unlikely bonds and discovering their true selves in an environment designed to push them to their limits.
The eight-episode series features Liam Oh and Joy Osmanski in its ensemble cast. You can watch on Netflix starting Oct. 9.
“Roofman”

Based on an unbelievable true story, “Roofman” follows Jeffrey Manchester (Channing Tatum), a former Army Ranger and struggling father who turns to robbing McDonald’s restaurants by cutting holes in their roofs, earning him the nickname Roofman. After escaping prison, he secretly lives inside a Toys “R” Us for six months, surviving undetected while planning his next move. But when he falls for Leigh (Kirsten Dunst), a divorced mom drawn to his undeniable charm, his double life begins to unravel, setting off a compelling and suspenseful game of cat and mouse as his past closes in.
Featuring Jimmy O. Yang, the movie opens in theaters on Oct. 10.

“Ballad of a Small Player”

However, in hot pursuit is Cynthia Blithe (Tilda Swinton) — a private investigator ready to confront Doyle with what he is running from. As Doyle tries to climb to salvation, the confines of reality start to close in.
Featuring actors Fala Chen and Deanie Ip, the film will be in select theaters Oct. 15 and available for streaming on Netflix starting Oct. 29.

“Good Fortune”

Based on a true story, “Last Days” follows John Allen Chau on a dangerous adventure across the globe to share his faith with the isolated tribe of North Sentinel Island, while a detective races to stop him before he does harm to himself or the tribe.
Directed by Justin Lin and starring Sky Yang, Radhika Apte, Ken Leung, Naveen Andrews, and Ali Fardi, the movie will be showing in theaters Oct. 24.
“Samurai Fury”
