You're Invited to a Hip-Hop Competition with 'America's Best Dance Crew' Stars
On Saturday, April 10, stars from MTV’s “America’s Best Dance Crew” will reunite to host a hip-hop competition, featuring popular groups like FR3SH, Fanny Pak, Kaba Legacy, Rhythm City and Static Noyze. These dance groups will be joined by Karla Garcia, a season five finalist of FOX’s “So You Think You Can Dance.” The event, which is backed by over 100 sponsors and advertisers, will highlight around 500 dancers and bring together a nationwide audience.
“The Main Event” will take place in Rahway, New Jersey at the Union County Performing Arts Center. Adrian Causing, the founder and executive director of FR3SH Dance Troupe, said in a press release, “With ABDC’s Rhythm City defending their title, teams like Kaba Legacy, Fanny Pak and the Funkbrella set to showcase, and a dance workshop that truly gives back to the community–this year’s Main Event should not be missed!”
Dance has been appearing in all forms on the silver screen, with releases like “You Got Served,” “Stomp the Yard” and “Step Up,” which bring impressive hip-hop moves to moviegoers around the world. However, there is still nothing as raw, empowering or real as having some of the nation’s most talented dancers compete on stage, as organized by live TV contests like ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” and “America’s Best Dance Crew.”
