Street Style: Vintage Americana

Our editors in New York City are hitting the streets for some style inspiration. Check in with us every week to see the top looks we capture while out and about.

Name: Sarah Lu
Spotted: High Line Park's Rainbow City
Hometown: Great Falls, VA
Occupation: Recent graduate from Columbia University's Graduate School of Social Work
Describe your style: Largely vintage-inspired, splashed with a bit of bohemian elements—but always classic.
Your summer must-have item: Summer is about adventure to me, so a great book that opens your mind and takes you away.
Favorite Places to Shop: Leesburg Outlets (Leesburg, VA), foreign and small town vintage stores, and Target in Reston, VA. All the good stuff is outside NYC, or in your mother's closet.
What she’s wearing:
—Top from Florence, Italy
—Her mom's vintage skirt
—Barneys New York shoes (house label)
—Michael Kors belt
—Her mom's earrings
—Her grandmother's ring
—Her mom's Nina Ricci purse
Why we love her look: Love the vintage style and how she "shops" from her mom's closet. We spotted her right before Fourth of July, and were inspired by the subtle red, white, and blue hints in her outfit for an unconventional holiday look.
