So You Think Asians Can't Dance?

gw433Silly question. We all know America's Best Dance Crews' Quest Crew, Kaba Modern and others blew the lid off that assumption ages ago. But lest we forget, Fox's fifth season of So You Think You Can Dance? features three uber-talented Asian American dancers vying for the top spot. KARLA GARCIA

In one corner we have Filipino-American Karla Garcia from Brooklyn, NY. 23-year-old Garcia is a graduate of New York University where she studied dance at Tisch School of the Arts. She has also performed on Broadway in "Hot Feet" and went on to tour with "Wicked." And as if she weren't accomplished enough, the Maryland native is also a member of hip-hop dance group Boogie Bots.

Check out her stellar performance last week when she danced the cha-cha to Lady Gaga's "Pokerface."

ASUKA KONDOH

UC Irvine graduate Asuka Kondoh first auditioned for season four but didn't crack the top 20. This time around, she tried out with her dance partner, Ricky, and perhaps he was the lucky charm. Even though Ricky didn't make the cut, we finally got to see the 25-year-old Latin ballroom dancer break into the televised finals. For more info on Asuka, check out this LA Times interview.

KUPONO AWEAU

This 23-year-old Hawaiian native is mighty easy on the eyes and mighty spectacular on the dance floor. According to SYTYCD's Web site, "Aweau graduated from the Kamehameha Schools and has been dancing since he was 16 years old." Last week, Kupono and his partner Ashley performed a surreal jazz number to Goldfrapp's "Felt Mountain:"

Alright readers, who are your favorites? And vote to keep these dancers in the spotlight!
