Rain Earns Top Slot in 2011 TIME 100 Poll for the Third Year

Out of all the influential people in the world listed in the 2011 TIME 100 Poll, from Lady Gaga and WikiLeaks's Julian Assange, to Prince William and Kate Middleton and Chinese president Hu Jintao, the winner of the reader poll turns out to be none other than South Korean entertainer Rain, who takes the top slot for the third year. As TIME magazine states, "that's pretty impressive online power for a guy whose main claim to Western fame is a role in the 2009 film "Ninja Assassin." Coming in second place is Taiwanese singer, songwriter, actor and director Jay Chou, who was our past cover boy and co-star in "The Green Hornet." Fun fact: Amy Chua, the infamous author of Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother takes the second to last place slot, right above Kanye West. With these two mega Asian stars taking the top slots, it's a testimony to the growing influence of Asian idols who not only do it all in the entertainment industry but create legions of hardcore fans across the world.
