Margaret Cho's 'Cho Dependent' Nominated for a Grammy

At the 53rd Grammy Awards on Sunday, Feb. 13, there will be much to look forward to, including performances by Justin Bieber and Bruno Mars, as well as top nominations, which include B.o.B., Bruno Mars and Monáe who received a collective 14 Grammy nods. Among the excitement is comedian Margaret Cho's Best Comedy Album nomination for "Cho Dependent." This follows a Grammy nomination for her 2004 album, "Revolution."
"Cho Dependent" was released this August by Cho's own label, Clownery Records. Collaborators on the album included big names such as Andrew Bird, Tegan and Sara, Fiona Apple, Ben Lee and Rachael Yamagata, to name a few. The songs are like story lines, detailing Cho's need for an intervention for her addiction to life, along with murdering lovers and loving their genitals.
No doubt, Cho has made funny her business. Her "Cho Dependent" stand-up tour, in which she performed some songs from her new album, wrapped up December 12. Cho will also continue to star in the Lifetime comedy-drama series "Drop Dead Diva," as the third season airs in summer 2011.
Stay tuned to see if Cho nabs a Grammy. But for now, have a look at some of the music videos for "Cho Dependent" tracks:
