Madewell's Creative Director Kin Ying Lee on Her Roots and Fabulous Job

Since discovering J.Crew’s sister brand, Madewell, at their first flagship store in SoHo, I’ve been a huge fan of their clothes, accessories and overall easy, hip style. The brand has been quickly building momentum with the recent release of Alexa Chung for Madewell’s fall 2010 collection. If you're curious about the creative brain behind their success, Fashionista recently caught up with Madewell's Creative Director Kin Ying Lee. Originally from Hong Kong, Lee moved to England at age six, and studied design at Kingston University in Surrey. Inspired by vintage wear, traveling, movies and Maggie Cheung, Lee's direction at Madewell is quickly making it the "it" store for young girls everywhere. [via Fashionista]
