F/W 2010: Twinkle by Wenlan, Inspired by Dark Fairy Tales
Mochi favorite Wenlan Chia is clearly enjoying the fruits of her success—she showed her collection this year at the larger Promenade tent in Bryant Park, and still managed to fill every seat. This season's Twinkle by Wenlan collection featured the signature Twinkle aesthetic of youthful and practical feminine silhouettes and distinct patterns and prints. We love her pieces, as you may have noticed in our winter issue fashion shoot “The Sky’s the Limit.” Light flowing tops and heavy knits were standouts in Chia's fall/winter 2010 collection. Inspired by Hansel and Gretel, the pieces told a story through fashion, brought to life by the use of pattern and color. The collection combined nature and metropolis, connecting the fairytale back to reality. Adding sophistication to the looks were the exquisite, original jewelry pieces, designed by Wenlan herself.
To further our delight, Ford Models’ Hyoni Kang walked in the show, first entering the catwalk in a black and white geometric sweater dress. Chia closed the show by coming out looking cute as a button and gracefully bowed to her guests. Another season, another fantastic Twinkle show.
