Asian Entertainers Featured In Teen Choice Awards
If you haven't been keeping up with news about the Teen Choice Awards, there's still time to vote! Just for reference, I compiled a list of Asians nominated for a TCA category. You can find a full list of nominees and check out the rest of the categories on the Teen Choice Awards website.
Choice TV Show: Action "Nikita," "Hawaii Five-O" Choice TV Actor: Action Daniel Dae Kim, "Hawaii Five-O" Choice TV Actress: Action Grace Park from "Hawaii Five-O," Maggie Q from "Nikita" Choice Music: Group Far East Movement Choice Movie: Scene Stealer Male Ken Jeong, "The Hangover Part II"
I am absolutely addicted to the CW show "Nikita." It was recently announced that Nikita's second season will premiere on Sept. 23 this fall on the CW, and I know I'll be glued to my TV that night. I'm so proud that Maggie Q is also nominated for the action actress category. This video is an old interview from "Live! with Regis and Kelly," conducted when "Nikita," season one, first premiered, but it's one of my faves because it shows what a funny and sweet woman she is! Unfortunately, I have to admit I've never actually watched "Hawaii Five-O," but it must be good, considering both actor Daniel Kim and actress Grace Park from the show are nominated in their respective categories. I'm stoked that Mochi's favorite breakout group of this year, Far East Movement, is nominated. I loved them back in their "Girls on the Dance Floor" days, and I'm hoping that they finally get the national recognition they deserve. And of course, Ken Jeong, the infamous physician-turned-comedic actor is nominated for his role in "The Hangover Part II." I did see the movie, but to be honest, it was a bit too vulgar at some moments for my taste. But as for the category of scene stealer, he's a definite win in my opinion.
Voting closes on Friday, Aug. 5, and you can vote once each day, per category, for all of your favorite actors and actresses. Then tune in Sunday, Aug. 7, at 8/7c on Fox to see who wins!
