A Day of Dialogue: New York City Asian American Student Conference
The New York City Asian American Student Conference (NYCAASC) will be hosting its fifth annual gathering on Saturday, April 16 from 9:30 a.m.-8 p.m. at New York University’s Kimmel Center on 60 Washington Square South. The conference is a free forum that gives Asian Americans the opportunity to discuss and address the different social issues pertinent to our community today. Filled with a broad range of workshops and panels, the conference is also a celebration of the diversity of traditions and heritages that make Asian American culture unique.
This year’s conference will address a variety of topics, including the revolution of Asian American cuisine, the rise of Asian Americans in the fashion industry, the prevalence of Asian American youth gangs, the model minority myth, and much more.
