Japanese Pop Star, Masumi …Stay tuned for her New CD Release and Tour Dates.
Los Angeles, CA – 25 year old Japanese Pop Star Masumi, born in Niigata, Japan, Masumi started honing her craft early in life. She was playing piano by the age of 4, playing concerts by the age of 6, and by her teen years had picked up percussion, cello, and voice using the perfect pitch that she possessed.
By attending Kanagawa University at Yokohama, Masumi eventually made the leap to America in hopes of beginning her music career in earnest.

Within a year Masumi had a demo and months later, with the help of famed producer Trevor Lawrence, Jr. (Eminem, Alicia Keys), was signed to America’s Fortress Records heralding the release of Baby You, with 10 of the most amazing original tracks you’ll ever experience. She has soared to the position of #8 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Singles Sales!

Masumi has enriched audiences all over California and Japan in concert, festivals, spinning nationally with drops, and is the newest Pop sensation to hit this Nation. She is currently working on her next project which promises to deliver ever more than this rising star has served up before, this artist is HOT!

Masumi is well on her way to being Japan’s first true crossover artist in America in a long time. And she is poised for it to happen with a Bang!….A SWEET BANG!

    Hi, Mochi staff,
I am thrilled to find your blog and website for 2 reasons. First, my tween daugther will love following your blog, and I think she’ll discover that blogging is a way to express herself. Creative, energetic talkative individuals should take time to focus their thoughts.

The second reason is that I’d like to strike up a conversation with your editorial board about the issue of pan-Asian and multi-ethnic identity. This is a strategic goal of our leadership, to identify the issues faced by multi-ethnic individuals and to craft an organization (NAAAP) that celebrates their identity and achievements.

More generally, as Chief Marketing Officer of the National Association of Asian American Professionals, I am looking to reach a younger and diverse crowd for our scholarship programs, professional development webinar series, and to help connect Asian in the 25 cities across North America where NAAAP chapters exist.

We have two chapters (Seattle and North Carolina) that have blogs. We have many prolific individuals. I’d like NAAAP.org to link to your site. Is a year-long ‘media partnership’ possible?

Let me know what you think about these ideas. Thanks, Cyndy Yu Robinson cyndyyurob@gmail or cyndy_yu-robinson@naaap.org(currently residing in Raleigh, NC, former resident of San Francisco, San Diego, Philadelphia, and D.C.)

Thank you so much for providing a space for young Asian American girls to express themselves and participate in a necessary dialogue for healthy development. As a biracial woman who is half Filipina it is a subject near and dear to my heart.

The subject of figuring out my racial identity is the topic of my first essay, “You’re Not White” in my book, A beautiful Mess. Please feel free to check it out:

For every book you pre-order, a book is donated a charity promoting literacy in third world countries. Please spread the word and help further the discussion of racial identity!
